I have just added a paper entitled “On Parsing Mozart, 1782-84,” to the Online Publications on my website at . Taking as its point of departure Edward Lowinsky’s landmark “On Mozart’s Rhythm” (1956), the article revisits Mozart’s C minor Serenade, K. 388 (in its string quintet version, K. 406), from the fluid perspective of Baroque ritornellos, whose phrase-groups articulate both expansion and contraction. The article also addresses related enlargements and diminutions that are due to *tonal rhythm* in the expositions of the keyboard concertos in G, K. 453 and in F, K. 459.
