Rozina Khatun deposited Evaluation of online and web search on Humanities Commons 4 years, 8 months ago
Information retrieving is time consuming and complex when techniques are unknown. And off course, trying on different search engine is worthy. However, all the search engines do not work equally. Here I am sharing my own experience to retrieve my required information and my evaluation on some of the search engines. This is a course work task for INM305 Information Retrieval. I am a real user here and I have anomalous state of knowledge(ASK). I need some information to do my dissertation and I already have some knowledge about my requirements. Also, I have looked at Wikipedia and decided my terms. Therefore, I say it as ‘conscious topical needs’. For the course work, I am asked to evaluate online and web searches to compare and contrast which one does the best to fulfil my need.
