The present Research Project is an attempt to analyse the centre state and administration relation
as envisaged under the Indian Constitution. The author draws a clear-cut picture of administration
relation of centre and during emergency and normal times. During emergencies the Indian federal
arrangement can be suspended whereas normal times the Centre can descend upon the state
through its powers of delegation, direction and grants in India. Articles like 256, 246, 257 and 263
are potent weapons by which the administrative activities by states can be made to fall in line to
the wishes of the Centre. Throughout the course of the research project various Indian cases have
been discussed to get understanding of administration relation.
