Through movements, organizations and pedagogical initiatives, such as transformDH, FemTechNet and DOOCs, the field of dh was invited to rethink its initial traditional and anglocentric structures. Although the field has made efforts to center people and knowledges not included in its initial work, there is still much to be done. In fact, US latinx digital scholars have been creating and innovating in the field of digital humanities through significant digital projects and publications over the past ten years. The USLDH at the University of Houston has compiled and shared a crowdsourced list of over 65 Latinx-focused DH projects across the US. Scholars and community members looking for Latinx DH resources and scholars now have a central resource to locate Latinx DH.

On this panel, each presenter will speak about their work in DH, discuss how their projects/work resists traditional anglocentric/Eurocentric/phallocentric epistemologies and the methodologies they use to create knowledge that resists colonialism, incl. academic colonialism, in order to fight the erasure of Latinx voices. Moreover, panelists address how a radical Latinx feminist perspective can work in conjunction with the philosophy of open education to create new curriculums using primary archival
objects, and student and community knowledge, to trouble the standard narrative in the process of creating Openly licensed resources (OER).These talks will demonstrate that US Latinx DH works from a “Chicana digital praxis model” (Cotera) that relies on a
continuously co-constructed model where research subjects become contributors to the research and the hierarchical structures are erased/diminished.
