Overview syllabus for ENGL 890 at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and advanced research skills course. In this course, students develop and refine strategies and critical thought processes for advanced research in English Studies. Together, we investigate and critique assumptions of authority, knowledge systems, information ownership, and scholarly inquiry, as well as consider legal and ethical issues with bearing on research. We also cultivate and practice transferable problem-solving strategies for research.
