The discovery of the importance of photographer Luis Leon Masson and the observation that, nevertheless, has been almost ignored in all the temporal space in which the Spanish photohistory has been developing in the last thirty years, has led us to ask ourselves about the circumstances that have concurred so that this character, who was able to achieve in his production of topographic photography the 800 works, that approached commercial level to the figure of Clifford and that preceded Jean Laurent in the conception of a photographic project that exceeded the limits of the city in which he resided, has not been worthy of the attention of the researchers until now. Spanish abstract: El descubrimiento de la importancia del fotógrafo Luis Leon Masson y la constatación de que, sin embargo, ha sido casi ignorado en todo el espacio temporal en el que ha ido discurriendo la fotohistoriaespañola en los últimos treinta años, nos ha llevado a preguntarnos por las circunstanciasque han concurrido para que este personaje, que pudo alcanzar en su producción de fotogafía topográfica las 800 obras, que se acercó a nivel comercial a la figura de Clifford y que precedió a Jean Laurent en la concepción de un proyecto fotográfico que excedía los límites de la ciudad en la que residía, no haya sido merecedor hasta ahora de la atención de los investigadores.
