In this book the author discusses the philosophical construction of Christian theology from a subjective point of view. He follows an existential approach and relies on his experience to give direction to his thought. Drawing on insights from Dr. Leslie Dewart, he recasts the ideas and notions inherited from the Hellenist philosophical tradition and presents two “case studies” that illustrate the role of a dehellenized philosophy in the construction of contemporary Christian theology. These two case studies, the first “dehellenization” of classical thought and, the second, “Orthodox Canon Law,” are deliberately poles apart to show that phenomenal theological construction, which transcends the conditions of time and culture, assists in solving these contemporary theological problems.
