    Assignment for the Data Information and Technologies (DITA) module INM348 for the Library and Information Science Masters, at the City University of London, taught by Dr Lyn Robinson. This essay gives an introductory analysis of some of the problems associated with the increased use of social media, focusing on Facebook and Twitter and the rise of these technologies with particular relevance to LIS. Coving ethical issues which are presented using a Floridian framework and providing examples of Shakespeare as a proto-troll, political evidence and educational and social impact on students today.
