Assistant Professor of Musicology

The School of Music at the University of Alabama invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. A Ph.D. in historical musicology is required by time of appointment; college teaching experience required. We seek a creative and collegial musicologist whose scholarly interests center on post-1900 music. Primary duties will include the teaching of a wide range of courses in music history and musicology at the graduate and undergraduate levels, including graduate seminars and undergraduate surveys; maintaining an active scholarly production suitable for a research institution; serving on graduate student advisory committees as well as School of Music and University committees; directing theses and other research projects when appropriate.
