• A description of the fabric of a dwelling from Virrey del Pino, La Matanza, is presented. This house was about to be demolished in order to retrieve the terrain for the building of new dwellings. Since it was considered to be of bicentennial age, and for preventing its total loss, it was decided to disassemble, move and reconstruct it in a new location. As part of this project, excavations were conducted and the disassembling supervised. This work brings together the data on the structure of the house, from the point of view of the materials employed and techniques used during its construction, and a hypothesis about the changes that were made throughout the time it was inhabited is offered.
