Donald Haase deposited Coleridge and Henry Boyd’s Translation of Dante’s “Inferno”: Toward a Demonic Interpretation of “Kubla Khan” in the group Group logo of CLCS Romantic and 19th-CenturyCLCS Romantic and 19th-Century on Humanities Commons 8 years, 7 months ago

Drawing on Henry Boyd’s 1785 translation of the “Inferno,” this note documents the nature and extent of Coleridge’s knowledge of the “Inferno” and demonstrates that Dante’s work probably did influence Coleridge during the composition of “Kubla Khan.”
