Early adopters! If you don’t see a group that meets your needs, please create one. Remember: you can notify up to five groups when you upload materials to the repository; on MLA Commons, such notifications have yielded a 250% increase in downloads.
Statistics! How do early adopters see if their efforts are generating views and DLs. Academia.edu has an analytics package which identified people who bookmarj, DL, follow etc. I’m not an acaemic, and am not driven by the need for impact statistics for aceamic progress, but I am interested in assessing Humanities Commons as a platform vs, Academia.edu, Twitter, Facebook and other platforms for broad academic/non-academic engagement. In reality a combination of tools almost certainly makes sense, and I am considering shifting from Twitter + Academia.edu to Twitter + Humanities Commons, becasue of (1) the underlying collaboartive functionality built into the platform (2) the quality of the thinking behind your repository. I may not be an acaemic but I do like data. In the meanwhile, congratulations on a smooth launch. Finally, my Tweet today with a plea for a network analysis of the launch of Humanities Commons is one which I hope someone picks up on. I have suggested to the historian Edmond J. Smith [https://twitter.com/EdmondJSmith], who has a background in historical network analysis of the English East India Company, that he take a look. Best regards, Colin
Addendum: How do I edit out my typos in a message thread!!
Hi, Colin: I’ve messaged you about statistics.
Thanks. Will take a look
